Chapter 1: Aeos Energy

Page 1. Aeos Energy. Not so very long ago, on Aeos Island... When I was a little girl, Beldum and I used to play with the Pokémon on the island every day. Young Professor Phorus says: On your mark... Get set... GO!

Page 2. On that day, the Pokémon were shining even more brightly than usual. And on their way to the cliff, where the finish line was... Beldum and Scorbunny looked like they had evolved. That’s what set me on the path to discovering the unique energy of this island: Aeos energy. In the following years, even as Beldum evolved into Metang and then Metagross, it kept supporting me in my research.

Page 3. Today. Professor Phorus speaking: Although Aeos energy also accumulates in seawater and flora, it is especially abundant in Pokémon. This energy increases exponentially when Pokémon cooperate with Trainers and compete against each other. Erbie - Researcher, says: We designed a new kind of competition that makes use of this phenomenon. Yes, what you’re all here to enjoy— Unite Battles! Creating the rules and this environment wasn’t easy... but that’s neither here nor there! Professor Phorus says: Thank you for your hard work! We have only this one request—

Page 4. Erbie - Researcher, says: that you, your fellow Trainers, and all the Pokémon here have fun together! Professor Phorus speaking: We believe that this new form of energy should be used for the future benefit of all Pokémon. That’s yet another reason why we want to make these Unite Battles fun for everyone. We’re also planning lots of other tournaments and events, so stay tuned! Erbie - Researcher and Chief of Operations, says: Yeah, but I’m the one who’s gotta plan them all... Professor Phorus, Chief Researcher speaks: I know you’ll do great!
