Duraludon Shows Its Metal in Pokémon UNITE
Spin out the competition in Pokémon UNITE with Duraludon, now available to join your team. This Ranged Attacker is ready to leverage light, throw claws, and rupture the very earth to claim victory. Duraludon’s basic attack is a fierce blast of light fired from its mouth, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. This attack becomes boosted with every third attack, shooting out a long beam that deals substantial damage to all opposing Pokémon it hits. Duraludon’s Ability, Heavy Metal, prevents it from being thrown or shoved once, then goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.
Duraludon’s Moves
At Lv. 1 and Lv. 2, Duraludon can learn Laser Focus and Metal Claw.
Using Laser Focus reduces the damage Duraludon receives for a short time. After Duraludon uses Laser Focus, its basic attacks deal additional damage to opposing Pokémon up to three times.
Metal Claw has Duraludon strike with its sharp claws, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. After Duraludon uses Metal Claw, its next basic attack becomes boosted.
At Lv. 5, Laser Focus can be upgraded into one of two moves: Flash Cannon or Dragon Pulse.
When unleashing the power of Flash Cannon, Duraludon ruptures the ground in a designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. For a brief period after Duraludon uses this attack, when it performs a basic or boosted attack, Duraludon will gather all of its light energy and release it all at once as a cannon of light. These cannon attacks have increased range and deal damage to all opposing Pokémon hit by the light. Boosted cannon attacks deal more damage than basic cannon attacks and also decrease the movement speed of opposing Pokémon they hit for a short time. When Flash Cannon is upgraded, it renders opposing Pokémon in the area of effect unable to act for a short time.
The second move, Dragon Pulse, charges up Duraludon’s power before dealing damage to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect. Duraludon’s movement speed is decreased while charging, but the longer this power is charged, the wider the move’s area of effect becomes and the more damage it deals. After Duraludon learns Dragon Pulse, a damage marker will be attached to any opposing Pokémon it damages. When Dragon Pulse hits a marked opposing Pokémon, it deals additional damage to that Pokémon for each damage marker attached to it, then removes all the damage markers. In addition, if Dragon Pulse knocks out an opposing Pokémon, its cooldown is reduced, and Duraludon’s next three basic attacks will each deal additional damage and further reduce Dragon Pulse’s cooldown when they hit. Dragon Pulse can be upgraded to restore Duraludon’s HP if the attack knocks out a Pokémon from the opposing team.
At Lv. 7, Metal Claw can also be upgraded into one of two moves: Dragon Tail or Stealth Rock.
Dragon Tail leverages Duraludon’s substantial size to shove opposing Pokémon and move Duraludon backward a short distance. After Duraludon delivers the shove, its next basic attack becomes boosted. A maximum of two uses can be kept in reserve for Dragon Tail. When upgraded, Dragon Tail deals additional damage.
Stealth Rock has Duraludon create a field of levitating stones by hurling a stone at a designated area. The field deals damage over time to opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreases their movement speed for a short time. If the thrown stone hits an opposing Pokémon before reaching the designated area, the area of effect will instead be centered on where the stone hit the Pokémon. If an opposing Pokémon takes damage from Stealth Rock a certain number of times, that Pokémon will be unable to move for a short time. After Duraludon uses Stealth Rock, its next basic attack becomes boosted. A maximum of two uses can be kept in reserve for Stealth Rock. When Stealth Rock is upgraded, the maximum number of uses that can be kept in reserve increases.
Duraludon’s Unite Move, Revolving Ruin
Light up the opposition with Revolving Ruin, a spinning attack that looks cool and deals some serious damage. When deploying this attack, Duraludon spins while firing a beam of light at the ground in a sweeping circle around it. If the beam hits an opposing Pokémon, it deals damage to it, grants Duraludon a shield, and increases Duraludon’s Attack for a short time. Both the shield effect and the Attack increase are strengthened when more opposing Pokémon are hit by the beam of light. After Duraludon fires off this beam of light, any opposing Pokémon caught in its area of effect takes damage. Revolving Ruin also leaves a burning ring where the beam of light touched the ground, and opposing Pokémon that touch this ring take damage and suffer decreased movement speed for a short time.
